First Aid Training Course Summary

The course has a large overview including the following.

The importance of preventing cross infection.

The need to record incidents and accidents.

Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.

Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizures).

Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.

Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.

Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.

Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).

Provide first aid to an unconscious casualty

Provide first aid to a choking casualty

Describe the correct actions to control of wounds and bleeding

Train others in emergency first aid basic life support requirements within their healthcare working environment

Lead a practical based group training session on basic life support

The training area needs to quiet and big enough for practical sessions.

Please make sure staff are not to be on duty while training.

The full training sessions with question paper needs to be completed by all delegates for the process of certification.
